About School:
Shimla Public School started out as a nursery school. The school’s public reputation grew with each session, parental pressure increased, and a new class was added each year. In 1986, the school became affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations in New Delhi. In 1990, the first batch of I.C.S.E. students graduated.
It was founded by Mrs. Pritpal Singh in the year 1979, after having worked at Bishop Cotton School for 13 years, heading the Junior Section there. She left in 1977 and got started with Shimla Public School.
It was because of her long hours of intense work and extreme dedication that SPS came to be recognized among the top boarding schools in Shimla.
Hostel
SPS has a hostel, which was founded with the help of one parent who left two of his children because he couldn’t stay in Shimla and didn’t want them to leave the school. The hostel has grown over the years, and it now houses 115 students. Almost half of them are foreign nationals.
All inter-school events are attended by the school. We are limited in space, but we make do with what we have. Our academic staff is extremely dedicated and hardworking. Mrs. Reena Singh is the Head of Time, and there are regular tests and not too much homework. We invite outside faculty to contribute to the performance of senior students, particularly in math and science.
We excel at providing personal care for children at the Hostel. There are two wardens on campus, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Pritinder Singh of the management.
