Remark SystemEvery school in the country is only interested in accepting the best students. However, in the city of joy, one school, SNVP, is poised to defy the odds by converting failure into triumph. The Remark System is one of the most significant concepts in education. At SNVP the students are judged based on their performance on the school campus. If a child is doing something positive, he/she gets +ve remark with positive numbers. On the other hand, if a child is doing something negative on the school campus, he/she gets -ve remark with negative numbers. The situation of getting positive remarks is attentive in class, having good handwriting, taking part in co-curricular activities, etc. The situation of getting negative remarks is indiscipline in school, not regular in school, incomplete work, etc. After analyzing a student for a week, it is announced on Saturday, who is STAR OF THE WEEK, based on getting positive remarks.
Co-Curricular Activities
Co-curricular activities at SNVP are a means of channelizing students’ instincts into healthy and fruitful channels e.g., the instinct of curiosity can be fruitfully channelized by the library, stamp, coin collection, etc. Self-government, social service, and other forms of collective labour can help to channel the gregarious tendency. A student is a collection of instinctive desires or drives. It’s natural for him or her to be curious, show off, master, be loyal, and sympathetic. Co-curricular activities at SNVP provide valuable opportunities in which these drives may be capitalized for educational benefit.
By providing several co-curricular activities, we ensure the expression of potential capacities of each e.g., writing, public speaking, dramatics, painting, different games and sports, organization of functions, etc. which provide training in different aspects of the personality of students. These activities, thus, cater to the aptitude, interests, and abilities of students and sometimes act as a determining factor for the choice of future vocation.
One of the most important needs of citizenship is social collaboration. It is difficult to impart knowledge through educational courses such as languages, mathematics, and social sciences. Students learn good manners and build a sense of cooperation by participating in group activities at school. Co-operation is encouraged via participation in SNVP groups, student government, dramatic cast, or athletic teams. They learn to appreciate the relationship of an individual to a social group.
Through team activities, students learn social cooperation. They develop group spirit, ‘we’ – feeling, belongingness, unity, and the ability to be cooperative
