K C P Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public School was established in 1991. Also known as KCP SARPS is a Co-ed school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is managed by the Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education. The school is based on a residential education system and combines the best traditions of the age-old gurukul with the needs of today’s socioeconomic realities. The school is in Kanuru, about two kilometres from N.H-5 in Vijayawada. The dorms are designed to be sanitary, with separate areas for sleeping, dressing, bathing, and toileting. Each girl child is given her own wooden cupboard (shared by two) to keep her personal belongings safe. The school takes care of the bed, bedding, linen washing, uniform, and so on. Boys Hostel The school has a separate boys’ hostel. Junior students up to class IX are accommodated in dorms, while seniors are housed in rooms. The dorms are designed to be sanitary, with separate areas for sleeping, dressing, bathing, and toileting. Each boy is given his own wooden cupboard (shared by two) to keep his personal belongings safe. The school takes care of the bed, bedding, linen washing, uniform, and so on. Each dormitory has a sit-out area with benches and study tables where students can finish up any unfinished classwork or homework. A team of resident teachers and dorm supervisors looks after the boys, who are overseen by a senior teacher who is designated as the Coordinator for Students’ Welfare. Co-Curricular Activities Sports & Games The school offers a variety of opportunities and facilities for students to learn outdoor and indoor games. The gymnasium has international dimensions and two indoor badminton courts. It is outfitted with modern gadgets to help students keep their bodies agile. The swimming pool and squash court are distinguishing features of the school. The school also has well-designed playgrounds and plenty of space for sports like cricket, football, hockey, tennis, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, throw ball, tennikoit, and so on.
