DPS KOLLAM, the first DPS in Kerala, is located at Meeyannoor, 18 kilometres from Kollam, in a peaceful and beautiful setting. It is a day and residential boarding school. It also offers a day-care facility. It is co-educational and comprises a diverse community of teachers and students. Our school offers the CBSE curriculum with English as the primary language of teaching. The school is dedicated to encouraging students’ critical thinking, self-assurance, and self-discipline. It is a residential cum day boarding school located in Meeyannoor, Kerala, just in front of the city (Kollam). The area is beautiful and natural. The school provides excellent informal education in the K12 format and follows the CBSE curriculum. The school is poised to bring in a progressive international curriculum soon. To sensitize and inculcate values of respect and compassion for all in society. Hostel The DPS Residence is a fully air-conditioned hostel. With residential teachers and a trained hostel warden, it houses both boys and girls Grades 4 and up are required for eligibility for hostel entrance. The hostel has both a dormitory and room facilities. Co-Curricular Activities -Dance -Music- Indian & Western vocals -Instrumental music -Art -Theatre -Home Science -Fashion designing Students of Grades III to VI will follow the “Dual Major Activity System” where each student is required to enroll in an Arts Major and a Sports Major. (Options will be confirmed only after an aptitude test). Students are expected to wear the prescribed Sports/Activity uniform for all activities at school. Practices for the various cultural activities and school sports teams are organized before/after regular school hours. Students of Grades K to VI will be offered swimming/aerobics classes during the school day. Children will have to carry their swimming costumes, towels, and swimming cap duly labelled with the name, class, section, and address in a separate bag. The child will be responsible for his /her swimming gear/school uniform in the pool area. Students should bring a medical certificate if he /she is not to use the swimming pool. Evening coaching is available for interested students from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
